Tracy Hellman, director of track and field as well as cross country at Augustana University in South Dakota, joins DyeStat editor Erik Boal to discuss his induction April 25 into the Drake Relays Hall of Fame ahead of the ceremony at the Courtside Club in Des Moines, Iowa, as part of the 114th edition of America's Athletic Classic, as the Drake Relays Presented by Xtream and Powered by Mediacom will be held April 24-27 at the Blue Oval at Jim Duncan Track inside Drake Stadium. Hellman has guided Augustana to 22 Drake Relays titles, including 17 in the past decade. Augustana has won the past five college women's distance medley relay titles at the Drake Relays, the longest active streak for any program in any relay, regardless of gender, including an NCAA Division 2 record 11:42.58 last year, which improved on the previous all-time mark of 11:42.94 at Drake Relays in 2022. Augustana has won eight women's college DMR titles overall at Drake Relays, along with seven men's DMR crowns in Des Moines. Hellman has mentored seven Division 2 individual champions during the past two decades, in addition to 191 All-Americans. He is the 92nd coach to be inducted into the Drake Relays Hall of Fame.
